Weekend Hair Detox

I do one of these usually every month or so....it is recommended to do them weekly and/or monthly and to do all four steps.   I have found these same solutions in several magazines and books.    This seems to be a repeating 4 step process.  So here it is:

Step 1: Nourish Your Scalp

It is good to use healing oils like soybean for potein, sunflower for it fatty acids, and rosemary to help blood circulation.

Treatment:
One tablespoon of these oils: jojoba oil (moisturizes and protects hair and scalp), castor oil (add shine and fullness) and coconut oil (stimulates clenasing).

Massage, using your fingertips to stimulate blood flow, gently massage the oil into your hair, focusing on the roots.   Then wrap your head in a warm, damp towel or cover it with shower cap for 20 minutes.

Step 2: Deep Clean

This will wash away the residual product, dirt and dead skin.

Treatment:
One cup of apple cider or white vinegar once a week.

Brush your hair before showering to loosen dirt and dead skin cells and pull oil away from the scalp.
Make sure your hair is wet.  Then rinse with vinegar before using your regular shampoo.

Step 3: Restore Moisture

It is good to hydrate hair with conditioner or a maske that contains essential oils and proteins.

Treatment:
Mix two tablespoons of olive oil with about half a mashed up avocado.

Apply mask from roots to ends.  After thoroughly coating your hair, wrap it in a hot towel for 20 minutes, then rinse.

Step 4:  Style Gently

Use alcohol and silicone-free styling products.

Treatment:
Mix two ounces of sugar with four ounces of water in a spray bottle.

To prevent buildup, use sprays and gels sparingly.  Spritz hair with spray bottle to add texture and a light hold.
