Make Your Own Decisions

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find anything that agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it." -Siddhartha Gautama (The Buddha), 563-483 B.C.

So why do you not consider Christmas as logical or reasonable and to the benefit of all? I would say that any time that has been set aside for families must then be beneficial. Gifts or no gifts. You have gone off the deep end of illogical, unbending and unreasonable. I feel sorry for your kid.

hmmm...since this comment doesn't directly relate to my post, I must assume this is someone I know and it must be someone who is threatened by my beliefs and can only vent to me by expressing them anonymously.

You have missed the mark as far as understanding my beliefs. Although, as judgemental as you sound, I doubt you would be able to understand any of my beliefs and values.

The traditions that my family practice are based on our beliefs and values. They do not require anyones approval.
